Make-believe - Empty
This work is the third in the “Empty” series. The first two works (Optical Illusion, Transparency) were a kind of homage to Greek sculpture, but in this work, I further contemplated my own expression based on the experiments I had done up to this point. As a result, the form of the human figure collapsed as if crushed by gravity, becoming a seated statue and becoming a being like a “make-believe”. However, it suggested the boundaries between the functional and non-functional, the concrete and the abstract, and gave us an intuitive sense of the “boundaries” that go beyond concrete images. This experiment developed into the “Cloud” series afterwards.
